PAY TRIBUTE TO MAURY

Members of Association and Friends Will Meet at Woman’s Club Tonight.

Tribute will be paid to Matthew Fontaine Maury at a meeting of the Matthew Fontaine Maury Association at the Women’s Club tonight at which Wyndnam R. Meredith will make an address on the life of the “Pathfinder of the Seas” and his notable service to Virginia?

Mr. Meredith will be introduced by S. S. P. Patteson. Mrs. E. E. Moffitt, president of the association, will pre-side.

The meeting tonight is open to the public. The occasion commemorates the entombment in Hollywood Cemetery of the famous geographer on October 1, 1873,

The Matthew Fontaine Maury Association has endeavored for some years to revive sufficient interest in Maury to secure funds for a permanent memorial in bronze or marble to his memory in Richmond.
