Baltimore Wants Few Rebel Flags For Dedication
Baltimore, April 29 (F) – This city is advertising for Confederate battle flags – but hold your fire, Yanks.
There’s no rebirth of the Civil War in prospect; it’s just the Monument City getting ready to dedicate another statue.
This one is an enormous job in bronze, depicting Generals Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson parting on the night before the battle of Chancellorsville, where Jackson was shot by one of his own troops.
The statue is to be dedicated Saturday, just 85 years after the battle, and the Confederate battle standards are wanted to decorate the site of the unveiling.
