Confederate monument Illumined

The Confederate Monument, on Mount Royal avenue, was illuminated last night for the first time and was greatly admired by the hundreds of persons who saw it. The illumination was brought about by City Councilman Bushrod M. Watts, who last week made a special request of Superintendent of Lamps and Lighting McCuen that it be done.

The electric bulbs on the monument are gracefully arranged and the whole effect is a beautiful one.
