CONFEDERATE MONUMENT

Gen. John Gill Becomes Treasurer Of The Fund For Daughters Of The Confederacy.

Mrs. D. Giraud Wright, president of the Daughters of the Confederacy, announced at the meeting Thursday mornIng of the chairmen of the Maryland Confederate Monument Fund that Gen. John Gill has accepted the treasurership of the fund. General Gill will receive subscription at the Mercantile Trust and Deposit Company. A great many subscriptions have already been received by the members of the different committees, and the ladies are delighted with their success.

The next business meeting will be held on the morning of May 2 in the parlor of the Central Young Men’s Christian Association. At that time the complete list of chairmen and committees will be announced. Opportunity for a general discussion of plans will be given to the members of the Baltimore Chapter at a musicale and reception which will be given in the parlor of the Young Men’s Christian Association on Saturday afternoon, April 29.
