More To Erect Monument.
At the meeting of the Daughters of the Confederacy Col. David G. McIntosh, of Towson, will be the principal speaker. Gen. A. C. Trippe will tell of the progress being made in the movement to erect a monument to Maryland Confederate women and will ask the help of his hearers. Throughout the South veterans are working to place in each State a memorial to the women who “so nobly aided the cause,” and it is hoped that Maryland will soon possess such a monument.
On account of the illness of Mrs. D. Graud Wright, Mrs. F. G. Odenheimer, first vice-president-general of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, will read the report of Mrs. Wright, who is chairman of the auxiliary committee on the monument in Maryland. Those who will receive crosses of honor are W. F. Browner, C. M. Cromwell, S. Monroe Grayson, George W. Hoffman, veterans, and Mrs. C. Ross McKendrick.
