1. Please give me the life history of Mr Sievers, the sculptor, who lives in South Richmond. Answer: Frederick William Sievers was born at Fort Wayne, Ind., Oct. 26, 1872. His parents were Frederick Augustus Ferdinand Sievers and Caroline Dieter Sievers. He was educated at the public schools of Atlanta, Ga, and the Mechanics’ Institute, Richmond From 1899-1901 he was a student at the Preparatory School of Art, Rome, where he took a second prize, first prize, and honorable mention; Royal Academy of Arts, Rome, where he won first prize; Academie Julian Paris. In 1906 he married Miss Elsie Muegge of New York. Their children are William Daniel and Lillian Gladys Sievers.

2. Please give me the names of the statues he has designed.Ollie Horton, Richmond Answer: His principal works include the Virginia monument at Gettysburg; Confederate monument, Abingdon, Va.; busts of Presidents James Madison and Zachary Taylor capitol rotunda, Richmond; bust of MatthewFontaine Maury, Hall of Fame, New York and the Jackson and Matthew Fontaine Maury monuments, Monument avenue, Richmond.
