Governor Lane To Take Part In Statue Dedication

Baltimore, April 23-(AP)—

Governor Lane of Maryland and Governor Tuck of Virginia will participate in dedication ceremonies a week from tomorrow at the double equestrian statue of Generals Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson in Wyman Park.

Some 340 Virginia Military Institute cadets and the VMI band will parade up Charles St. with 2nd Army and Maryland National Guard units to start the ceremonies.

Dr. Douglas Southall Freeman, editor of the Richmond News Leader and famed as a biographer of Lee, will be the principal speaker.
